The Jonas Scholarship / Veterans Healthcare impacted Ursula’s career by allowing her to develop and purpose improvement  in the delivery of care the OIF/OEF post deployment Veterans at that time and in the future. The scholarship allowed the continuation of her quest to develop a more integrated and seamless system of post deployment transition for all Veterans accessing the Veterans Healthcare System. Through the attainment of the scholarship, she was able to continue assist in the development of the OIF/OEF Post deployment outpatient clinic at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.      As a member of the Alumni Council, she would like to be a part of the development of a mentor program that would foster the design for more population healthcare in the setting of community/government hospitals.  Create awareness about the Jonas Scholar Program among professional nurses serving the Veteran Affairs Medical Center for future scholars.  Development of a profession pathway to growth for future doctoral nurses.
