Since 2010 I have been traveling to the Dominican Republic (DR) with Inter-Cultural Nursing Inc. (based out of Rhode Island) to provide health education via nurse-led clinics to the rural residents of the DR. Since 2013 I have been bringing nursing students along to participate in the clinics and to complete their capstone projects. This summer I will be traveling to Kenya (with Foundation for Peace) to participate in community building, HIV education and TB transmission prevention over a two week period. Upon my return I will be attending a 2 week conference at the United Nations which addresses global bio-ethic issues. My current research interests include: cultural competency, cultural desire, and global health promotion/education.
